Step 1: Read the Manual
The first step is reading the manual using the Hoover Power Scrub Elite. It’s important to go over the instructions and become familiar with the parts of the cleaner and how it works.

Once you have read through the manual and clearly understand how to use your cleaner effectively, you can move on to Step 2 – filling up your water and soap compartments!
Step 2: Fill the Water and Soap Compartments
Once you’ve read the manual and familiarized yourself with the Hoover Power Scrub Elite, it’s time to fill up the water and soap compartments.
To fill the water compartment, use hot tap water. Then, fill the soap compartment with cleaning solution. For best results, it’s recommended to use Hoover Hard Floor Cleaner for carpets and Hoover Carpet Cleaner for hard surfaces.
It’s important to note that you should never mix water and soap solutions in the same tank, as this can cause damage to your cleaner. Make sure to follow instructions in the manual carefully when filling both compartments.
Step 3: Set the Knob to ‘Wash’

Once I’ve checked the clean water/solution tank, I can turn the power off and pull the power cord out of the socket. Then, I can remove the water/solution tank and tilt it back in. With all that done, I can twist off the clean water cap on the top of the clean water tank and add warm water to the fill line. After replacing the cap, it’s time to set our knob to “Wash” and start cleaning!
Step 4: Squeeze the Trigger and Move the Cleaner
Once the water and soap compartments are filled and the knob is set to “Wash,” it’s time to start scrubbing! Squeezing the trigger and moving the cleaner forward and backward will help you get deep into the carpet fibers to remove dirt, dust, and debris.
It’s important to slowly move the cleaner while squeezing the trigger to evenly distribute the cleaning solution across the carpet’s surface.
Moving too quickly may result in uneven application of the solution. Additionally, make sure to use dry strokes when you are done with each section of the carpet. This will help ensure no excess water or cleaning solution is left behind.
Step 5: Clean the Carpet in Small Areas
When using the Power Scrub Elite™ Carpet Cleaner, cleaning small carpet areas at a time is important.
Press the trigger on the handle to start the water and suction. Move the cleaner slowly over the carpet, and scrub each area with the 360° brushes.
